RGU Venue - Sunday 9th April only

Directions:  The Robert Gordon University Campus is located at a beautiful riverside location within the Garthdee area, south of Aberdeen, accessible on the numbers 1 and 2 First Bus service (both these buses also service the AECC and allow use of the Grasshopper bus passes).  See further details of how to get here and campus life at RGU.

RGU venues will only be used on Sunday 9th April for the workshops, tutorials and the doctoral consortium.


AECC Venue - main conference, Mon-Thurs

Aberdeen Exhibitiion and Conference Centre will be the main venue used for the ECIR 2017 conference (Monday to Thursday, evenings may vary).

Directions:  The AECC is located north of Aberdeen City Centre within the Bridge of Don Industrial Estate. It is serviced by the number 40 park-and-ride bus, or the numbers 1 and 2 which go very close, all of which are First Buses.  Stagecoach Buses travelling to Ellon, Peterhead or Fraserburgh also service the AECC.  See further travel information here.


Rox Hotel - Conference Banquet

The conference banquet will be held on Tuesday 11th April, at Aberdeen's Rox Hotel, which is a stunning new four star Aberdeen hotel combining many contemporary and classical features.

Directions:  The Rox Hotel is located on Market Street in Aberdeen (just off Union Street). 

We are excited to invite Cabrach ceilidh band along who will play after the dinner until your energy levels run out!  They will instruct delegates how to perform the Scottish Dances so bring your dancing shoes and have lots of fun.....


Aberdeen's Town House - Wednesday Industry Day welcome

The welcome to Industry Day happening on the evening of Wednesday 12th April will take place at Aberdeen's Town House where the Lord Provost (or appropriate representative) will give a short introduction to Aberdeen and host the delegates with some drinks and canapes.

Directions:  The Town House is located on the corner of Union Street with Broad Street.
